Cub Section

The Cub Section is for young people aged 8-10.5 years.

Lent/Spring Programme

This term we should be entering teams into the District Quiz and the Indoor Challenge, which is this year a Cooking competition. As you may have seen in the news in recent weeks, the Scout Association has revised the programme across the movement, in addition to introducing a number of new badges. The majority of the new badges are for other sections, but the major change for the Cub section is the introduction of new Challenge badges. Additionally the requirements for the Chief Scouts Silver Award have changed so that a Cub needs to get 6 Challenge badges opposed to 3. As a result of this we will be shortly (once we have the new materials) revising our programme to revolve around the Cubs gaining their Challenge badges.

Monthly Challenge

Following on from last years 100 challenge, we have decided to continue setting a monthly challenge (although only 1 a month, opposed to 10 this year!) The Cub who performs best each month will be awarded the Best Cub Trophy.

Badges

More information on the various badges Cubs can work towards either by themselves or as part of our programme, can be found on the Badges page (also accessible from the menu on the left of the screen). This page also contains information on where various badges should be sewn onto the uniform in addition to links (at Scoutbase) to the requirements for the various activity badges that can be achieved.
